National Tutoring Programme (NTP) allocations for 2023 to 2024 academic year

The Department for Education (DfE)(DfE) launched NTP in academic year 2020 to 2021 to support schools and local authorities to provide tuition for their pupils. The programme is well-established, with the majority of state-funded schools in England now offering tutoring.

The department has published NTP guidance setting out information for schools and local authorities on how to provide tuition for pupils through NTP in academic year 2023 to 2024.

The published conditions of grant set out the terms and conditions which schools and local authorities must follow.

Year-end statement guidance 

Read this guidance to find out how to submit the year-end statement for NTP for the 2023 to 2024 academic year using our digital form. 

The deadline for you to submit your return is 5pm on Thursday, 26 September 2024.

Allocations

For maintained schools, payments willwere be sent to local authorities on the last working day of each month in:

• September 2023
• December 2023
• April 2024

For academies and non-maintained special schools, payments willwere be made in:

• October 2023
• January 2024
• May 2024
