Super-complaintThe Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) and the College of Policing have published a report in response to the super-complaint submitted by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, on behalf of the National Stalking ConsortiumConsortium. The super-complaint raised concerns about how police forces in England and Wales respond to reports of stalking.  

 A joint investigation by the IOPC, HMICFRS and the College of Policing found that significant changes are needed to improve the police response to stalking.reports of stalking in England and Wales. 

His The Majesty’sjoint Chiefinvestigation Inspectorreport includes a series of Constabularyrecommendations aimed at supporting policing to make the necessary improvements to ensure reports of stalking are consistently taken seriously and seniorvictims representativesare frombetter safeguarded. There are recommendations for chief constables, as well as for the IOPCHome Office, the Ministry of Justice, police and crime commissioners and the Crown Prosecution Service. These include recommendations for changes to the law around stalking and stalking protection orders. There are also actions for the College of Policing haveand assessedthe IOPC to further develop the super-complaintavailable asguidance beingand eligibleadvice for police on responding to bereports investigated.of stalking.
