UK Visas and Immigration guidance for staff responsible for screening, deciding and managing asylum applications from individuals who have:
a visa (or electronic visa waiver) to come to the UK
applied for a UK visa
applied for a visa to go to the Republic of Ireland
It covers:
the central reference system (CRS) and visa application forms (VAFs)
screening and routing actions
casework actions - file receipt, interviews, decisions and recommendations
Guidance updated with the following changes: added child safeguarding section; updated contact email addresses and repaired and updated links; added new processes for Atlas and HOPS; expanded guidance on Irish visa matches; link added for biometrics data sharing; expanded section on asylum support considerations; added new references to Intelligence Referral Forms (replaces the former Visa Match Report process); added new guidance for asylum support considerations; amendments made to EU-related references; added UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) team contacts.
