Read the full outcome
Detail of outcome
The government consulted on proposals which would make senior executives of tech companies personally liable when the rules on the sale of knives are broken.
We received 74 completed responses, which have been analysed and given full consideration in the preparation of this response.
The government will introduce legislation to support the removal of illegal knife related content from online platforms, marketplaces, and search services. This forms one of the measures included in Ronan’s Law, named in honour of Ronan Kanda who was tragically killed in 2022.
