UK recognised Aviation Inspection Bodies

The MCA recognises organisations to act as Aviation Inspection Bodies (AIBs) for the assessment and certification of shipboard heliports onboard UK yachts.

An AIB is a body delegated the responsibility of inspecting helicopter landing areas by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

As detailed within the REG Yacht Code, the AIB verification process shall include inspection, certification and, where necessary, the application of appropriate operational limitations.

The process on how to apply to become an Aviation Inspection Body can be found within MIN 681, please click here.  MIN 681 replaces MGN 433. To include: MIN 681 (M) Helicopter aviation inspection bodies - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Current Aviation Inspection Bodies:

These organisations are recognised in accordance with applicable UK requirements.
