Details

The organic registers are lists of recognised third countries or territories and organisations that may certify organic products for import into Great Britain.

These third countries and organisations certify organic products to an equivalent standard to Great Britain.

There are 2 lists:

  • Annex III lists equivalent third countries and territories
  • Annex IV lists equivalent control bodies and control authorities

Annex III: list of third countries or territories

This list provides details of third countries or territories able to certify and import organic products to Great Britain. It shows:

  • categories of products recognised as equivalent for each third country or territory
  • restrictions that may apply
  • control authorities responsible for certifying products
  • recognised certifying control bodies

Annex IV: list of control bodies and control authorities

This list provides details of the control bodies and control authorities recognised as certifying to standards equivalent to those of Great Britain. These control bodies and control authorities may certify organic products for import into Great Britain. The list shows:

  • categories of products that control bodies and control authorities may certify
  • addresses and websites of the control bodies and authorities
  • recognised code numbers, third countries or territories and product categories
  • exceptions for particular categories
  • the length of time the control body or authority will be recognised as equivalent
