The Home Office register of forensic pathologists is a list of forensic pathologists who meet the criteria for registration as detailed in the process and criteria for recommendation for admission to the Home Secretary’s register of forensic pathologists.

This document lists those on the register by group practice and details the police forces within those group practice areas.

  1. Dr M Parsons has relocated to Greater London, South East and West Midlands practice area.

  2. Added Dr Biddlestone to the register.

  3. Updated to reflect that Dr PN Cooper's suspension was lifted on 22 April 2024, with no further action.

  4. Updated to reflect the retirement of Prof GN Rutty retired from the register.

  5. Update regarding the suspension of Dr PN Cooper.

  6. Dr A Armour resigned from the register on 15 December 2023.

  7. Dr MJ Egan (North East) resigned from the register on 1 October 2023.

  8. Dr M Jenkins joined the register of forensic pathologists on 17 May 2023.

  9. The North West group practice and the Humberside and Yorkshire group practice are have amalgamated.

  10. Added Dr S Hoggard to the North East Practice area. Dr Hoggard joined the register on 4 February 2022.

  11. Edited register - Dr M Lyall has moved from the London and South East & West Midlands practice area to the North West practice area.

  12. Removal of Dr DS James who retired from the register on 30 September 2021.

  13. Dr C Johnson added to the North West group practice.

  14. Dr M Lyall has moved from the North West group practice to the Greater London, South East and West Midlands group practice area.

  15. Dr M Cieka added to list.

  16. Dr J Williams added to the Mid & South Wales & Gloucestershire Group Practice and Dr AM Davison removed from the register.

  17. Added Dr J Robinson to the North West practice area.

  18. Updated list of forensic pathologists.

  19. Dr Hunt and Dr Davison have resigned but remain on the register until the homicide cases that they provided evidence in (as expert witnesses) are concluded in Crown court. The HTML document has been updated to reflect this.
