Guides revised following legislation to extend recognition of CE marking on products being placed on the Great Britain market which came into effect on 1 October 2024.
Minor changes to the NI guide to reflect the Government’s announcement on 1 August to extend recognition indefinitely of CE marking in certain product sectors for placing goods on the GB market.
Guides updated with minor amendments and references to the Windsor Framework.
Guide footnotes updated to reference the Product Safety and Metrology (Amendment and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2022.
GB guide updated to reflect the further extension of the transition period for UKCA marking.
GB guide updated to take account of the Government’s announcement on 20 June of changes to make it simpler for businesses to apply the new UKCA marking.

The guidance has been updated to reflect the removal of all references to the 'old approach' Directive 74/148/EEC concerning above-medium accuracy weights courtesy of the Weights & Measures (Revocations) Regulations 2015, coming into force on 1 December 2015. Regulation 8 ‘appropriate equipment for tests’ has been completely removed with the guidance explaining in detail the appropriate weights to be used.
