If you’re looking for a rewarding career that supports the environment, forestry could be for you.
Whether you’re just starting your forestry career journey or looking to change careers, there are courses, training and other routes into working in forestry.
Never has there been a more important time for trees, woodlands, and forests to help tackle the climate emergency.
Employment prospects
The forestry sector is growing and the demand for enthusiastic, passionate, trained and committed people is high. Government tree planting targets mean the sector is only going to grow further.
Many employers are large organisations like us or smaller forestry contractors. There are also environmental charities and non-government organisations, such as the World Wildlife Fund.
Further resources
A focus on nature: a hub for young people to find a career in conservation. Read case studies showing many conservation roles, from communications to protecting nature.
Women in Arboriculture: a group set up to champion women in the tree care industry and encourage cultural change and greater diversity.
The Aboricultural Association blog features young arborists who are just beginning their careers.
