This regulatory position statement (RPS) appliesdoes tonot temporarilychange storingyour thelegal followingrequirement wasteto onhave landan otherenvironmental thanpermit where itone wasis producedrequired; beforenor itsto collectionregister foran recoveryactivity oras disposal:

  • fly-tippedexempt waste
  • wastewhere taken from trash screens
  • waste from public litter bins

This RPS does not change your legal obligations to get an environmentalappropriate permitexemption foris this activity.available.

However, the Environment Agency will not normally take enforcement action whenif you do thisnot activitycomply withoutwith anthese environmentallegal permitrequirements if you complymeet with the requirements in this RPS.

The regulatory position does not apply to any other legal requirements.
