This guidance has been developed to assist with the management of possible or confirmed cases of avian influenza, in particular, H5N6, H5N1 and H7N9.
In relation to persons exposed to confirmed detections of avian influenza in avian or mammalian species outside the UK, refer to Investigation and initial clinical management of possible human cases of avian influenza with potential to cause severe human disease - GOV.UK.
Contact your local health protection team for advice and support, particularly in situations that are outside the scope of the guidance.
