Details
On 28 February 2018, Natural England submitted a report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs setting out the proposals for improved access to the coast between Easington and Filey Brigg.
The opportunity to comment closed at midnight on Wednesday, 25 April 2018. You can no longer make a representation or objection on proposals.
All representations and objections were considered before the Secretary of State made a final decision about the report.

Outcome
On 18 August 2020, the Secretary of State approved these proposals.
On 10 May 2023, the Bridlington (North Sands) to Filey Brigg section of the route was opened to the public.
On 18 August 2025, the Easington to Bridlington (North Sands) section was opened to the public.
The route is available to view on the National Trails website.
