The Biomass Feedstocks Innovation Programme aimedaims to increase the production of sustainable domestic biomass by funding innovative ideas that address barriers to biomass feedstock production. It willsupports supportprojects thosewhich who are seeking to improve productivity, through breeding, planting, cultivating and harvesting.
Phase 2: Demonstration (closed)
£32 million of funding was awarded for the project demonstration stage of the Programme, with up to £4 million of funding awarded per lot 1 project and £5 million for the lot 2 multi-site demonstrator platform.
The funding enabledwent to 12 organisations,projects, including ones from 7 small- and medium-sized enterprises, tothat would deliver commercially viable innovations in biomass production.
Phase 1: Project development (closed)
£4 million in funding was given to:
- 22 Lot 1 innovation projects
- 3 Lot 2 multi-site demonstrator projects
to develop strong proposals that would deliver commercially viable innovations in biomass production.
