This guidance tells HM Passport Office staff how to deal with emergency passports and travel documents issued by UK officials that we receive as part of a passport application.
Updated the guidance to: include the new correspondence address for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI); change terminology from ‘overseas’ to ‘international’ when referring to applications and customers; remove references to the Application Management System; and to tell examiners how to instruct DHU's to cancel and destroy the document or return it to the customer if it contains valid visas.

Guidance updated to reflect that ARD (Application Receive Domain) will automatically populate the address for the return of travel documents.
