Details

These standard rules allow you to operate a metal recycling site at a specified location, provided that the permitted activities are not carried out within:

  • 500 metres of a European Site, Ramsar site or Site of Special Scientific Interest
  • 50 metres of any well, spring or borehole used for the supply of water for human consumption, including private water supplies

You can apply for this standard rules permit if: 

  • your activity meets the rules set out in the permit 
  • you can manage the potential risks as set out in the generic risk assessment
