Consultation on residues control programme charges
The VMD are consulting on proposed changes to charges for the National Residues Control Programme to recover full costs.
The UK, Scottish and Welsh Governments are seeking views on proposals to revise the charges for the National Residues Control Programme (NRCP).
The NRCP monitors residues of banned substances, veterinary medicines, and contaminants in products of animal origin before they enter the food chain. The charges need to be adjusted to cover the rising costs of delivering the programme.
We want to hear your views on our proposed new charges and how these changes may affect businesses.
The consultation closes at 11:59pm on 19 January 2026.
