Reason
On 8 July 2024 the name ‘Twente’ (PDO) was included in the Union register of geographical indications. The geographical area of the name ‘Ambt Delden’ (PDO) was also included in this name’s geographical area. The geographical area of ‘Ambt Delden’ (PDO) has thus become part of that of ‘Twente’ (PDO). The duplicate geographical area created has therefore made the name ‘Ambt Delden’ (PDO) superfluous, leading to a producer request to cancel the registration of this name. In accordance with Article 25(2) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1143, a request to cancel the registration of ‘Ambt Delden’ (PDO) is submitted.
