Sellafield Ltd employees and partners spread festive cheer across our communities

Sellafield Ltd employees and supply chain partners provide vital support to families and individuals across Cumbria and Warrington through annual Christmas appeals.

Sellafield Ltd employees and supply chain partners have once again come together to provide vital support to families and individuals through our annual Christmas appeals, helping to make the festive season brighter for those most in need.

Working alongside Cumberland Council, Family Hubs, and BEC, the West Cumbria Christmas Toy Appeal delivered toys and gift vouchers to children up to the age of 19.

Sellafield Ltd awarded a grant of £24,915 through our Social Impact, Multiplied (SiX) programme, to support the appeal. In addition, our supply chain partners generously contributed by donating funds and selection boxes.

So far this Christmas, the appeal has supported over 230 families.

Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of families received essential support during the festive season.

At the Vertex Centre in Whitehaven, employees raised a record-breaking £10,125 for the Time to Share Bereavement charity – £2,875 more than last year. Fundraising included raffles and even a half marathon challenge.

Employees also continued their long-standing support for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS). Santa and his elves toured Sellafield and our Whitehaven offices, raising over £10,000 this year – adding to more than £30,000 raised over the past decade.

In Warrington, the need for support grew significantly, with 972 children referred to the Warrington Toy Appeal, up from 863 in 2024.

Our employees in the Warrington office supported 3 local charities:

  1. Warrington Toy Appeal: 288 gifts

  2. Warrington Open Door at Christmas (WODAC): 120 food items

  3. Room at the Inn and Y Project: 305 toiletries, socks, and gloves

Sellafield Ltd thanks all employees and partners who contributed to these appeals. Your generosity demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the communities where we live and work.
