Kitchen behaviours ethnographic study in Nepal
This study focuses on understanding how everyday cooking behaviours impact electricity consumption in households using induction cookstoves.
Abstract
The goal of this study is to understand the kitchen behaviours that lead to higher electricity use, and the positive behaviours resulting in energy saving. The insights from this study are intended to help improve induction cookstoves by making them more efficient, and also user-friendly. Additionally, the findings will inform behaviour change campaigns that encourage energy-saving habits.
The study highlighted both the benefits and challenges of using induction cookstoves in the study households.
This research is part of the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme.
