Details
The public can access Dartmoor training areas (Okehampton, Willsworthy and Merrivale) during guaranteed public access days.
Do not enter a live firing range: this is a danger to life. Red flags by day and red lamps by night indicate that live firing is taking place. Range boundaries are marked by red and white poles.
For updated firing times visit the Dartmoor firing times page.
Day firing is between sunrise and sunset. Night firing is between sunset and sunrise. Flags are lowered as soon as live firing ceases.
Do not touch any military debris, it may be dangerous. Note the location and inform HQ Dartmoor training area or police.
Any short notice cancellations will be broadcast each morning on BBC Radio Devon and posted on Twitter.

The MOD is licenced to conduct live firing on the 3 Dartmoor ranges for a limited number of days each year.
On live firing days the MOD can prevent public access to the range areas in accordance with the byelaws that have been established.
