Leaving Qatar
If you judge it is safe to do so and plan to use commercial options to depart check for the latest updates from your airline or tour operator, as well as the instructions of local authorities and the status of any border crossings before you travel. Make sure you have access to emergency supplies and essential medication. Travel within or out of Qatar is at your own risk.
Keep your departure plans under review and ensure your travel documents are up to date, including any visas required for onward travel.
Qatari authorities have announced additional non-scheduled flights to depart Doha. Monitor flight availability directly with airlines and travel providers.
The British Embassy is in regular contact with the Qatari authorities about availability of seats on flights departing Doha. We are prioritising assistance for the most vulnerable British nationals.
EnteringEntry to Saudi Arabia
Qatar’s land border with Saudi Arabia at Abu Samra is currently open. Check the status of the crossing before you travel.
If you do decide to travel:

make sure you have enough food, water, and essential medication

ensure you have the correct documentation, including valid passports, vehicle documents if needed, and any required visas

confirm your onward travel arrangements from the Saudi side, as commercial transport options may be limited and must be arranged directly with providers

you may wish to use a tour operator, bus service, or taxi company familiar with the Abu Samra crossing, as they are more likely to be aware of current conditions
