Details

This list sets out the UN codes for trade and transport locations (UN/LOCODEs) for UK offshore installationsinstallations. in the UK. The information was originally published by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on 15 January 2025.

It is published alongside a piece of draft legislation, the ‘Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) (Extension to Maritime Activities) Order 2026’. This 2026 order seeks to amend the ‘Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Order 2020’ by inserting a new Schedule 2A. Paragraph 6(3) of new Schedule 2A intends to identify the UK offshore installations in scope of the UK ETS expansion to domestic maritime by reference to UN/LOCODEs.

'UK ETS: Offshore installations - UN codes for trade and transport locations (UN/LOCODEs)' has been updated to include offshore installations in all jurisdictions which are known to have a UN/LOCODE, and known airports and train stations from the UNECE data have been removed, as these will not be relevant.
