Detail of outcome

The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government has decided to implement, subject to Parliamentary approval, the proposal for 3 unitary councils to be established in Norfolk and 3 unitary councils to be established in Suffolk.

The Norfolk proposal was submitted by:

  • Breckland Council
  • Broadland District Council
  • Great Yarmouth Borough Council
  • Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk
  • North Norfolk District Council
  • Norwich City Council

The Suffolk proposal was submitted by:

  • West Suffolk Council
  • Mid Suffolk District Council
  • East Suffolk Council - Babergh District Council
  • Ipswich Borough Council
