Details

The local transport infrastructure carbon benchmarking tool (LTICBT) is a spreadsheet-based tool to support local authorities in estimating the infrastructure carbon impacts of transport interventions.

The LTICBT estimates the infrastructure carbon of a proposed transport scheme using predefined benchmarks from standards and case studies. It covers elements such as footways, bus lanes, cycle tracks, road bridges and charging infrastructure.

It is intended to be used at the early stages of scheme development, such as local transport plans and the early stages of business cases and appraisal.

Read the guidance on this page and download the Excel spreadsheet to use the tool.

The tool supports the application of the Department for Transport’s Local transport quantifiable carbon guidance.
