Funding to support Local Plan implementation: Successful local planning authorities
Successful local planning authorities who have been awarded Legacy System Plan Funding and New System Plan Funding.

Summary
Following the November 2025 announcement that a minimum £14 million of funding would be made available to support local planning authorities with local plan implementation, we have now issued over £15.7 million in funding to local planning authorities.
This is in addition to the £29 million previously awarded in 2025 to local planning authorities with plans at regulation 18 and 19, and to those authorities undertaking Green Belt reviews.
The funding was available to eligible authorities producing plans in both the legacy and new plan making systems to support them with plan-making at pace.
Eligible local planning authorities were invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form by 28 January 2026, to request a share of this funding. All EOIs have been reviewed.
82 local planning authorities have been awarded Legacy System Plan Funding.
