The CMA is consulting on draft revised guidance on our approach to assessing rivalry-enhancing efficencies in merger cases. The draft revised guidance is intended to replace the text currently in paragraphs 8.2 to 8.27 of these merger assessment guidelines.

These guidelines set out the CMA’s approach when investigating mergers.
The guidelines are designed to help companies and their advisers assess if competition concerns might arise in a merger.
We updated this guidance on 18 March 2021 after consulting on updates.
