Tool to help built environment professionals to understand how sustainably located a place is and the transport interventions needed to support it.

What the tool does

The ConnectivityThe Connectivity Tool combineshelps transportbuilt andenvironment landprofessionals useand dataothers to generateunderstand athe nationalconnectivity measure of connectivityplaces for any location in England and Wales. This connectivity score measures people’s ability to get where they want to go. You can use the tool to:

  • display how any location in England and Wales is connected to everyday services by walking, driving, cycling and public transport
  • plot new transport routes to understand how these would affect an area’s connectivity

There is also a limited version of the tool (Connectivity Tool Lite) that anyone can access.

Who can use the tool?

The Connectivity Tool is available to built environment professionals in the public or private sector.

Connectivity Tool Lite - no registration needed

Connectivity Tool Lite is available to anyone without registration.

You can use Connectivity Tool Lite to see how any location in England and Wales is connected to everyday services by walking, driving, cycling and public transport.

It doesn’t include interactive features, such as plotting new transport routes.
