Statutory direction issued to Herefordshire Council in relation to children's services.

Details
This statutory direction was revoked on 13 July 2026 following a report by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of the council’s children’s services to be good and a final report by the children’s services commissioner.
This direction requires the council to continue to co-operate with the commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education.
It follows:
- an Ofsted inspection report of Herefordshire Council local authority children’s services published 21 September 2022 that judged services to be inadequate across all sub judgements
- independent reports from the Secretary of State’s Commissioner for Herefordshire Children Services
This direction replaces the Revised direction issued to Herefordshire Council in March 2023.
