For the 2026 intake, Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTsCDT) and Doctoral Focal Awards were selected in line with the priorities setof outsome inareas of the UK’s Industrial Strategy. EligibleIn PhDsparticular, wereawards selectedhave basedbeen onselected theirfor relevancealignment to the 6 frontier technologiesindustries inunder the Digital and Technologies Sectorsector, Plan, alongside a small number linkedprioritised tofor technologydigital withinand technologies in the Financial Services sector.
Applications for thesupported 2027/28doctoral academictraining yearplaces willcan openbe fromapplied thisfor Autumn.through autumn and early winter, with eligible centres for Doctoral Training/Doctoral Focal Awards advertising the increased stipend.
