Academic engagement helps government access research, evidence and expertise to support better decision-making. The Academic Engagement Toolkit, which is an update on the 2013 “Engaging with academics: how to further strengthen open policy making - a guide for policy makers” document, provides practical guidance, tools and resources to help civil servants engage effectively with academics. It also supports greater understanding between government and academia, helping to build more inclusive and mutually beneficial relationships.
Academics can explore Routes for academic engagement with Government for more information on ways to contribute their research and expertise to government decision-making.
