ForAll morenew informationShared onOwnership leases granted after 12 October 2023 should use the CPI-based model leases,leases. whichHowever, onean exemption applies to usehomes andwhere thefunding fundamentalwas clausesagreed pleasebefore referthis date. In these cases, RPI-based model leases may continue to Homesbe England’s used, provided specific exemption criteria are met. For further details on model leases, refer to the Capital Funding Guide - Shared Ownership chapter, sections 5 and 11.11.

Shared Ownership model leases have only been published online since October 2006. A complete archive of older leases is not maintained; however, Homes England holds some historical copies in electronic format. For advice on, or copies of, older model leases, email sharedownership@homesengland.gov.uk .
