This document provides advice and guidance for government departments when making appointments to posts which are subject to a pre-appointment scrutiny hearing by a House of Commons select committee.

The guidance sets out the steps that departments should follow and also lists, at Annex D, which posts are subject to a pre-appointment scrutiny hearing.
