Jennifer Anderson officially starts as Ambassador to Türkiye

British Ambassador Jennifer Anderson CMG officially takes up her role as British Ambassador to Türkiye.

Jennifer Anderson, presented her credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday 8 September 2026 and officially started her tour as British Ambassador to Türkiye.

Ambassador Jennifer Anderson CMG paid a visit to Anıtkabir to mark the official start. She was accompanied by Embassy Staff.

Ambassador Anderson laid a wreath at the mausoleum and observed a minute’s silence before signing the Anıtkabir Memorial Book. She wrote the following lines:

I am humbled and honoured to return to Türkiye as the UK’s Ambassador to Türkiye and present my respects to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Modern Republic of Türkiye.

The UK and Türkiye are not only steadfast NATO allies, but nations bound by deep historical ties, mutual respect and a common vision for a prosperous future. I commit to further strengthening our partnership and friendship.
