TheWhat the customs data report service is for
ThisYou service can provide data for EORI numbers starting GB. If you need data for an EORI number starting XI, you’ll need to use the paid service on the UK Trade Info website.
Use this service to requestget customs data reports from HMRC. These reports are based on your import and export data from the Customs Declaration Service. They’re set out in a similar way to Management Support System (MSS) reports.
These reports can help you:
- check your customs declarations are accurate
- support audits or investigations
- review declarations submitted on your behalf
- monitor your import and export activity over time
Who can use the service
You can use this service if you’re you’re:
- an importer or
exporter.Youcanalsousetheserviceifyou’re:- exporter
- a declarant, like a customs agent who submits declarations on behalf of someone else
- a third
party,partylikeactingaonconsultancybehalffirmof an importer oraccountant,exporter,actinglikeonabehalfconsultancyoffirmsomeoneorelseaccountant
If you’re aan thirdimporter party,or yourexporter clientand willyou needwant toa givethird youparty permission to requestget reports on theiryour behalf.behalf, Theyyou need to give them access. You can do this inwithin the service.
What’sWhat you’ll need
To use the service you’ll need to:
- be subscribed to the Customs Declaration Service
- have an EORI number
- sign in using the
reportsindividual or organisation Government Gateway user ID that is linked to your EORI number
If you have more than one EORI number, you’ll need a different user ID for each EORI number.
Reports you can get
You can requestget 4 types of report. TheThis following table gives a basic overview and example of each one. The example reports are for information only and do not represent any real data.

Data you can requestget reports about
You can requestget reports about EORI numbers starting in GB or XI. If you ask for a report for an EORI number starting in GB, you’ll automatically get the data for the linked EORI number starting in XI.
You can get up to 31 consecutive days of data in each report. This can start from any date within 4 years from the current date. Data from the past 2 days is not available.
For exampleexample, if todaystoday’s date is 13 February 2026, data will be available from 13 February 2022.2022 Datato from10 theFebruary past2026.
The 2data daysyou isdeclare notwill available.only appear in reports once we have processed it. It may take longer for us to process some data.
Importers,If exportersyou’re andan declarantsimporter or exporter
You can requestget datareports for the EORI number linked to the Government Gateway user ID you use to sign in.
To get datareports for moremultiple than one EORI number,numbers you’llfrom needa single user ID, you can give third party access to signone inof moreyour thanuser once,IDs usingfrom all the others.
If you’re a declarant
You can get reports for the EORI number linked to the Government Gateway user ID linkedyou use to eachsign in. The EORI number.number must be listed as the declarant.
You’ll only be able to see data for items you have declared using the service.
ThirdIf partiesyou’re a third party
You can requestget datareports forabout EORI numbers that you’ve been given access to by the importer or exporter.
You cannot get reports where the EORI number is only listed as the declarant.
You can get reports about more than one EORI number using a single Government Gateway user ID. You’ll get a separate report for each EORI number.

You cannot use an agent Government Gateway user ID to sign into this service.
Online services may be slow during busy times. Check if there are any problems with this service.
What happens next
We’ll send you an email notification once your reportsreport areis ready. This could take up to 72 hours. You can then download the reports from the service as CSV files.
