In therounds first1, 2 roundsand 4 of the UK Seafood Fund: Infrastructure Scheme, £56.1£56.25 million was awarded to 2730 projects to support the long-term sustainability of the fisheries and seafood sector. Round 3 is still open for applications.
These projects will strengthen the seafood supply chain, bring social and economic benefits, and reduce the seafood industry’s impact on the environment.
In round 1 of the infrastructure scheme £16 million was awarded to 6 projects:
- £11.1 million was awarded to 4 projects in England
- £4.9 million was awarded to 2 projects in Scotland
In round 2 of the infrastructure scheme £40.1 million was awarded to 21 projects:
- £15 million was awarded to 8 projects in England
- £18.7 million was awarded to 10 projects in Scotland
- £3.8 million was awarded to 2 projects in Wales
- £2.6 million was awarded to 1 project in Northern Ireland
In round 4 of the infrastructure scheme £154,000 was awarded to 3 recreational sea fishing projects:
- £54,000 was awarded to 2 projects in England
- £100,000 was awarded to 1 project in Scotland
