Customs declarations
From 16 August 2023 up to and including 18 September 2023 HMRC may contact you by phone.
HMRC is working with the independent research agency Ipsos to carry out follow-up research. The purpose of the research is to further explore answers given by businesses in a survey earlier this year. Only businesses who took part in the original research will be contacted.
You will be asked to take part in a phone call that will last up to 45 minutes.
This study will help HMRC better understand how customs obligations impact your business.
Taking part is voluntary. HMRC will not be able to identify organisations or individuals from their answers.
All answers will be:

Debt management
HMRC is sending voice prompts to some customers, explaining what you need to do if you’re behind with your payments. Customers will receive these as an inbound phone call to landline and mobile phones. They will give details for paying HMRC, or a helpline number for you to contact.
HMRC is also sending messages that give advice about how important it is to make payments using the correct information.
The messages will not ask for any personal or financial information.

From Monday28 4August December 2023 up to and including Thursday21 20September December 2023 HMRC may contact you by phone.
HMRC maywill contactcall you byto phoneinvite inviting you to provide feedback on your experience of following the Inheritance Tax process. This call will focus on your experience of valuing a residential property.
You’ll be asked if you’re willing to take part in a telephone feedback session.phone Thecall sessionand willa providetime anwill opportunitybe forarranged.

HMRC will be:call employers to invite them to help with research into processes for completing the new starter checklist.
To support research, HMRC will need to identify contacts within the business to help with the following:

We may use employer security questions during these calls if needed.
If you volunteer to take part, you’ll help improve how HMRC supports and engages with businesses.
