The guidance is for:
- local authorities
- school leaders
- school teachers
- governing bodies and their representatives
ECF year 2 time off timetable funding is paid in the summer of year 2 of the early career teacher’s (ECTs)(ECT) induction.
This funding covers the cost of giving each ECT in year 2 of induction:
- 5% off timetable for induction activities
including ECF-basedincluding ECF-based training and mentor sessions - a dedicated mentor for
each ECT,each ECT, based on 20 hours of mentoring in year 2 of induction
This funding is linked to the ECT and paid to the school who has registered the ECT as undergoing their second year of ECF training at that school.
Conditions of grant
This guidance sets out the terms and conditions applied to the funding for schools that signed up for and participated in the national roll-out of the early career framework reforms from September 2021.
Allocations
We have published thean updated academic year 2022 to 2023 funding for time off timetable for early career frameworkteacher (ECF)(ECT) teachers and mentor grant allocations forspreadsheet, Julywhich details allocations up to December 2023. These updated allocations include the sweep up payments for all eligible schools and organisations which were not captured in the summer 2023 payment window.
Payments
PaymentsAcademic willyear be2022 to 2023 allocation payments were made to local authorities for maintained schools at the end of July 2023 and directly to academies at the start of August 2023.
AWe have made all corrective action and sweep up paymentpayments willat bethe madeend earlyof January 2024, towhich ensureensures all eligible schools and organisations not captured in the summer 2023 payment window arehave been paid in-year.
Allocation payments for 2024 will be made to local authorities for maintained schools and directly to academies by the end of the academic year 2023 to 2024.
