ECF year 2 time off timetable funding is paid inafter the end of the summer of yearthe 2second year of the early career teacher’s (ECT) induction.
This funding covers the cost of giving each ECT in year 2 of induction:
- 5% off timetable for induction activities including ECF
-basedbased training and mentor sessions - a dedicated
mentormentor,foreachECT,based on 20 hours of mentoring in year 2 of induction
This funding is linked to the ECT and paid to the school who has registered the ECT as undergoing their second year of ECF training at that school.school in year 2 of their induction.
Conditions of grant
This guidance sets out the terms and conditions applied to the funding for schools that signed up for and participated in the national roll-out of the earlyECF career framework reforms from September 2021.
Allocations
We have published an updated academic‘early year 2022 to 2023 funding for time off timetable for early career teacher (ECT) and mentor time off timetable grant allocations academic year 2022 to 2023’ spreadsheet, which details allocations up to December 2023. These updated allocations include the sweep up payments for all eligible schools and organisations which were not captured in the summer 2023 payment window.
We will publish allocations for 2023 to 2024 after the end of the academic year.
Payments
Academic year 2022 to 2023 allocation payments were made to local authorities for maintained schools at the end of July 2023 and directly to academies at the start of August 2023.
We have made all corrective action and sweep up payments at the end of January 2024, which ensures all eligible schools and organisations not captured in the summer 2023 payment window have been paid in-year.
