Apply for Marriage Allowance by post
Use form MATCF to apply for Marriage Allowance to transfer 10% of your Personal Allowance to your husband, wife or civil partner.
You and your husband, wife or civil partner can use this form to apply for Marriage Allowance. This lets one of you transfer 10% of your Personal Allowance to the other, who can then claim the value of that allowance.
On 26 February 2024, the apply by post for Marriage Allowance form will be updated to include a new nomination section. This section must be completed if you would like any repayment to be made to a third party, such as an agent.
Use the ‘Apply by post for Marriage Allowance before 26 February 2024’ form for any claims that will be received by HMRC up to and including 25 February 2024. The new form has been added for information purposes only.
Any claims received by HMRC on or after 26 February 2024 must be made using the new ‘Apply by post for Marriage Allowance on or after 26 February 2024’ form. Claims received using the old form will be rejected.

From 26 February 2024, if you’re making a claim for someone else, charging a fee for this and want the repayment to be paid to you, find out what you will need to do to receive Income Tax or PAYE repayments on behalf of others.

Post it to the address shown on page 3 of the form.
