Submitting an electronic administrative document or an electronic simplified administrative document for excise goods
Find out how to complete and submit an electronic administrative document (eAD) and an electronic simplified administrative document (eSAD) using the Excise Movement Control System.
If you’re a consignor and you send duty suspended excise goods using the Excise Movement Control System (EMCS), you’ll need to complete and submit a message known as an electronic administrative document (eAD) through EMCS before the movement takes place.
If you’re a certified or temporary certified consignor and you send duty paid excise goods from Northern Ireland to the EU using EMCS, you’ll need to complete and submit a message known as an electronic simplified administrative document (eSAD) through EMCS before the movement takes place.
The Administrative Reference Code (ARC) must accompany the goods. The instruction that it has to ‘be visible on either a printed eAD, eSAD or any other commercial document’, has been removed.
