Details
Reprocessors and exporters need to use summary logs to record packaging waste activity. Summary logs are spreadsheets that record data about each load that arrives or leaves your site for each registration or accreditation that you hold.
The template you need will depend on your organisation and operating activity:
- reprocessor summary logs focus on the waste received by reprocessors at their UK reprocessing sites
- exporter summary logs capture each load exported to overseas reprocessing sites

Template status
The requirement to complete summary logs comes into force from 1 January 2026.
We’re publishing the templates and guidance before 2026 so you can prepare.
There are currently 3 templates available. These templates may change as we receive feedback. We expect future changes to be usability improvements rather than changes to data fields although this is not guaranteed.
