Details

The OFSI Consolidated List of Asset Freeze Targets is closing. From Wednesday 28 January 2026 the UK Sanctions List iswill nowbe the only source for all UK sanctions designations.

See howUK tosanctions manageregimes came fully into force under the changeSanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 for(the furtherSanctions details.Act) at 11pm on 31 December 2020. The regulations establishing these regimes apply in the whole of the UK, including in Northern Ireland.

Some of these regimes contain sanctions measures (for instance asset-freezes or travel bans) which apply in respect of persons or ships which have been designated or specified.

Russia:The UK Sanctions List

The UK government publishes the UK Sanctions List, which provides details of those designated under regulations made under the Sanctions Act. The list also details which sanctions measures apply to these persons or ships, and in the case of UK designations, provides a statement of reasons for the designation.

Searching the UK Sanctions List 

You can search for individuals, entities namedand ships designated or specified under regulations made under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 by using the UK sanctions list search function.

Search field 

Enter the name of an individual, entity or ship in relationthe ‘Search’ field. The search tool currently only works for exact matches.  You can enter a partial name to financialfind alternative spellings.  The search covers all parts of a sanctions designation, including the text of the statement of reasons.

Results are listed in order of ‘Unique ID’. Use ‘Sort by’ to reorder your results by OFSI Group ID, Name, Regime Name, Type, Designation Source, Date Designated, or Sanctions Imposed instead. 

‘More Search Options’

You can use ‘More Search Options’ to refine your search and investmentselect restrictionsa specific Regime, Unique ID, Date Designated and type of Sanctions Imposed. 

Viewing the detail 

ThereSelect: 

  • ‘Download results’ to create an Open Document Spreadsheet list of your search results 
  • ‘View Details’ next to a specific search result to open a new page with tabs for information on the Designation, Names, Addresses, and about the Entity or Individual 
  • Once in the ‘View Details’ page, select ‘Download’ to generate an Open Text Document with all of the designation details in one document 

The search database is updated alongside the UK Sanctions List. Using the search function does not remove your obligation to undertake appropriate due diligence in respect of designated persons.
