Report packaging data

Sign in or create an account sofor that your organisation canto report packaging datadata. andThis meetmeans itsit obligationscan undercomply with extended producer responsibility (EPR) for packaging.

Under EPR for packaging, organisations that supply or import packaging or packaged goods may need to report their packaging data. To do this, you need to create an account on the ‘Report packaging data’ service.account.

Compliance schemes also need to create an account.

If you already have one, sign in to your account.

What you can do in your account

You can use your account to:

  • registertell withus theyour environmentalorganisation regulatorsdetails

  • report packaging data
  • tell us if youyou’re chooseworking towith registera directly

    compliance scheme

  • tellregister with the environmental regulators

  • accept ifand youreject choosesome PRNs

Who can create an account

You can create an account to registerreport throughpackaging adata complianceif schemeyour organisation:

  • supplies packaging to the UK market

  • reportimports and discards packaging data

    in the UK

  • reportis a changethird inparty, yoursuch organisationas details

    a compliance scheme, that works with organisations that supply packaging

IfTo you’recreate aan largeaccount producerfor an organisation, you canmust also:be one of the following:

  • checkthe yourdirector recyclingor obligations

    company secretary
  • a partner
  • a sole trader
  • a member of a limited liability partnership

accept the packagingOnce wasteyou’ve recyclingcreated notesan (PRNs)account, andyou’ll packagingbe wasteable exportto recyclinginvite notesother (PERNs) that you’ve acquiredpeople. You can give permission for another person to do things on your behalf within the account.

  • Getting approval to submit data

    findBefore out how muchyou your wastecan disposal fee issubmit eachdata, yearthe environmental regulator will need to approve your account. It may take them up to 28 days to do this.

    • LearnOnce morethey’ve aboutdone creating anthis, accountyou’ll be an ‘approved person’ and registering.it will be your legal responsibility to make sure that the data your organisation submits is as accurate as reasonably possible.

    If you give someone else permission to submit data on your behalf, the regulator will need to approve them too. This is also known as adding a ‘delegate’ and they’ll have the same legal responsibilities as the approved person.
