Taking Teaching Further (TTF) is a 2-year programme that supports further education (FE) providers to recruit and provide early career support to those with relevant knowledge and industry experienceexperience, to retrain as as FE teachers. teachers.

Available funding

TTF hasProviders 2can routes,apply for funding of either £15,200 or £21,200 per recruit, depending on if the providerteacher training route taken. This funding is to cover the cost of an early career support package, including a statutoryreduced FEtimetable, providerfor (routenew 1)teaching recruits taking either:

  • an Ofqual-regulated, classroom-based teaching qualification at level 5 or ahigher
  • the privatelearning trainingand providerskills (routeteacher 2).apprenticeship

Guidance and eligibility for TTF 2024

TTF 2024 is open to eligible FE providers through 2 routes:

  • Routeroute 1 is for general open to general FE colleges, colleges, sixth-form colleges, land-based colleges and institutes of adult learning
  • Routeroute 2 is foropen to independent training providers, employer providers, third-sectorthird sector training providers, local authority providers, adult and community learning providers, and specialist post-16 institutions

For TTF 2024, we have made changes to the delivery model, which will reduce the administrative burden on colleges and providers.
